WDMyBook - Bridgeboard JMS579 - WD40EZRZ

July 15th, 2020, 9:38

Hi there,

WD My Passpor 4TB HDD with Bridgeboard.
If I connect the HDD by USB with the Bridgeboard to the PC it will recogniced as Elemts -> So far so good.... but just 1 LBA
If I connect it directly by SATA to the mainboard -> no way to find the disc in victoria oder WDMarvel.

It sounds that the head will try to read the disc but cant. Its more a "copy data" than a clicking or scratching sound.

Could i repair it with wdmarvel -> Deal with slow responding?

HDD: WD WD40EZRZ
Bridgeboard: JMS579

best regards
Fabian

I think this is not slow issue, probably weak heads, the more you squeeze it (running it) >> other heads will die too
changing heads i believe is a must here

It's a controller issue.
Connect the drive to a different SATA bridge and you will see it all.
Probably will be encrypted though, but you can give "reallymine" a try.

I expect you will get the same result if you connect the bridge PCB on its own, without the HDD.
