WD10EZEX-75WN4A1 access User Area

April 20th, 2023, 16:11

Hello guys, good day. I"m sorry for asking such a beginner question, but I'm stuck on a drive that doesn't allow me to access User Area, even with access to everything else.
Drive had servo burnt. I did a head swap (as I do daily basis), and changed PCB too (fearing 5V diode could explode on original PCB), with ROM chip transference.
Drive gets ready with new set of heads, doesn't click, IDs perfectly and it is able to read and write modules. Made a backup and made a "slow issue solution".
Still heads are unable to pass head test.

Heads are working flawless on donor drive. Don't understand at all. If you guys please forgive my lack of experience and clear me out how should I get access to user area, I'll be really grateful. Thank you in advance.

Do you have access to user data, regardless of the head test issue?

Not even a single sector of User Area

What error do you get?
Have you tried changing the head map in RAM to read from just one head at a time?

I've tried and tested using "user sector viewer", then I realize that this would be better to test in Data Explorer. Head 1 is reading, but really slow. And head 0 isn't reading at all.
Maybe I should search for other head set. Thank you for your answering.
