Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hello everyone, I recently had to recover some data from a mechanical hard drive and I saw a lot of recovery software and didn't know which one to choose. The hard disk was in bad condition, it was difficult to read the sectors as they were damaged but even so with a software with the getdataback I managed to recover a large part of it. Now I have the question of which was the best way to make the recovery the most optimal and effective, maybe there are better procedures and software that I don't know.
Thank you very much

Does this help at all? I see that it is overdue for an update about options, but should help a bit.
