Help with terminal of Samsung HM500JI

Hello,

I have a Samsung HM500JI, it spins up, clicks loudly and then spins down.

At first I thought about bad heads, but that "VCM is stucked" makes me think it can be another problem...

Any hint?

I had a case with same symptoms.
I changed upper and lower magnet, and the HSA.
The problem solved.

It would appear that the VCM driver is unable to overcome the latch force. Other than replacing or checking mechanical components, one could increase the VCM current by adding a resistor in parallel with the current sense resistor (R220 near the motor controller?), but that would be risky. Perhaps you could measure the resistance of that resistor, or clean the VCM contacts at the HDA connector?
