Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

I was going to purchase a WD blue 8TB drive off their website and saw there's the older WD80EAZZ 128mb cache drive that's available to ship, but also a new 256mb cache drive WD80EAAZ available to ship in 3-4 weeks. They are the same price. Any idea if one would be more reliable than the other, or if one is a better design? Basically wondering if it's worth waiting for the newer 256mb ver. or better off just getting older 128mb ver.
FYI I'll be using the drive just as an archive data dump and for backups
Thanks in advance!

For archive anything will do the job, cache won't make any difference at all
