 Post subject: ST8000DM004 can read sector obnly under utility mode very sl

hello guys
with pc-3000 i saved important sis files and regenerated the translator but sectors canbe readed only with utility mode very slow speed!
does someone know how to solve this problem?

if it reads through utility, I will keep it that way, better to read customer data in utility mode and not try to fix it since these drives FW is complicated and may damage it then you wont be able to recover your customer files again

I am having same exact issue.

ST1000VX005-2EZ102 heads are dead.

Swapped the heads, unlocked the drive, from the start the drive has some problems with fw. Although through the sector read the data was visible, however just saving modules will make the drive hang and goes to BSY mode. and i tried reading the drive without any settings. The drive goes through like 3-5gb/30mb/s normally until it gets those yellow + black dotted lines. I stopped the procces.

I tried backup modules then rebuilding translator. Upon starting the drive up the drive would again read normally in UDMA mode for 4-5GB then again starts those yellow black dotted sectors. I changed to read from utility. Even though the speeds are slow, at least it still gets the data
