This makes no sense. If the drive was not getting 5V and 12V, then the MCU would not have been alive, in which case the drive would not have been able to communicate.

Can you now measure the voltages at all those test points?

How does this account for the e-fuse being open on both sides? I don't think we're getting the real story.

If this is a clients drive, don't you think it's time you sub contracted this one out to someone with a little more experience.

Try it both ways and then try to understand why you get the results that you do.
