I have received a Seagate ST2000LM007-1R8174-570 HDD for data recovery. its PCB number is 100835923 Rev B. manufacturing date is 17 Jan 2023, its firmware version is EB01 and SIte code is WU.

The hard drive has common ready then busy issue. no sector access after get ready.

i am not able to back up its rom from original pcb. i had shifted the rom to another same pcb and backed it up. the i did unlock from Ver 2.4 mode 2. its Jenus AF model hdd. it shows its RAP, CAP and SAP ok. i did not make any modification with the original rom IC. i had used doner ROM IC of came make ie. IS25WP to write the unlock rom and shifted to original board but it shows "Flash boot code Digital Signature Verification failure!".

the original ROM IC is working and i need to repair it for the data recovery as its does not have sector access. then i swap rom ic with same model same rev PCB without make any changes to rom then both the hdd gives same error i.e. "Flash boot code Digital Signature Verification failure!".

kindly help. What is the issue with this new model HDD. What can we do in this case. i am not in condition to take risk with the original ROM IC right now. as i observed that there is some changes made by Seagate as like Wd made. They have introduced MCU kind of encryption in these models. i am not sure i am correct or wrong.

Kindly find the attached file consisting of ROM Reeded by using another pcb, picture of HDD and screenshot of DDP.
