Hi

I have been dealing with this problem for a week. I really hope you guys can help me out.

I installed Windows 10 on a Samsung SSD M2 980 Pro and its booting fine.
But my Seagate 2Tb sata HDD and dvd-drive can only be seen in BIOS, not in Windows 10 device manager.

I have installed Windows 11 on the HDD. Maybe thats the problem. But boot order is 1:SSD 2:HDD so I guess it should be ok?

If I detach the SSD M2 from the motherboard and boot, then I can start Windows 11 from the HDD and also see the dvd-drive. So the HDD and dvd are not defective.
(The only reason I've installed win 11 on the hdd is to see if the drive works)

Motherboard is Asus P590-P.

Any suggestions on how to see the HDD and dvd in device manager?

Hoping for your help on this one. It's much appreciated.

Some motherboards share an m.2 slot with the first SATA controller. The m.2 slot takes precedence.

But, in that case, I would think that BIOS wouldn't see the SATA port, either. :-?

I have tried to connect the HDD to all of the 4 sata connectors on the motherboard. No difference.
Things used to work fine with SSD M2 and a HDD and dvd-drive. Just changed the HDD, and the problem occurred.
There are 2 other SSD M2 slots on the motherboard I could try out. If that makes any difference.

Or is this a PCI driver issue?

It was a driver issue. I fixed it with the correct drivers.
