Hello,

Can anyone help provide a ROM of a Seagate ST500LT012 HDD drive with the below characteristics?

Code:
Model ID..................: ST500LT012-1DG142
FW........................: 0001SDM1
Fam ID................... : 0x5F (Yarra1D)
Servo FW rev code........ : 0xA487

I'm trying to patch a ROM with the same Model ST500LT012-1DG142 and sale FW 0001SDM1 but a different Servo rev code, but unfortunately, it is not working.

I need the exact Servo code. I searched on the hddsurgery.com database, but unfortunately, I didn't find it (most of the drives are recent).

My Patient drive DOM is 06-2013

Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Micheal,

Thank you very much for sharing the FW.

Unfortunately, it didn't work.

The drive doesn't have the identical full drive name ST500LT012-1DG142
and my patient Servo FW rev code is : 0xA487

@sosrecup, if you upload your ROM, I may be able to repair it for you.

Hello,

Please find attached the corrupt ROM. The drive was working fine, then after an electrical surge problem, the drive stop working.

I thought it was a PCB problem, so I changed the PCB and transferred the ROM but the problem remained.

I contacted PC3000 support and they suggested correcting the ROM with a donor that has the same HDD Model/FW/Servo Rev (which I don't have).

Thank you in advance for your help

@SWM

Thank you very much. It was a compatible ROM, I transferred the adaptive data, and the ROM issue was fixed.

But it looks like the electrical surge damaged the ROM/PCB/+ the heads.

I need to transfer the heads to see if the problem is resolved.

Thank you for your help
