this is 500GB Seagate HDD good for long-term data archiving? It was the only one I found new and sealed for sale.

This is 8 year old consumer grade hard disk. Its working life was over long back.
Its not suitable for any serious use.
You must choose Enterprise grade hard disks or SSD's for long term data storage.

I read that SSD is not good for long term archiving, the electrical load and data are allowed in storage

Company HDD is very expensive
