Donor for WD with no DCM WD10SDRW-11A0XS1

October 19th, 2025, 4:41

Hello everyone,

How can I find a donor HDD for drives that don’t have a DCM code on the label? Some WD drives, like the Charger and Palmer families, don’t list a DCM—only the model number, serial number, manufacture date, and location are provided.

Currently, I have the following drive:

Model: WD10SDRW-11A0XS1

Family: Palmer

Made in: Thailand

Date: 24 OCT 2024

PCB: 2060-800069-001

I'm trying to find a suitable donor for a head swap, but I’m not sure what parameters to match without the DCM. Is the model number, manufacture date, and country of origin enough, or is there anything else I should look for?

Most of donors will work fine but you can check DCM in moduje 47 or 0A. Or just check it in log after running the utility.

Thanks for your response.
Right now, I don’t have any donor drives, so I’m trying to find one. Do you think the WD10SDRW-1A0XS0 would be compatible? The PCB number is the same: 800069.
