Give us the full product number, for example 6E040J0510605.
How do you intend to use it? What programe is available to you?

MAXTOR 6L040J2 is from D740X-6L family and as D540X-4K they both are actually Quantum drives. They don't have product number like other Maxtor drives.
But giving us some e-mail will be usefull :o

hi there

i have problems with same hard drive. as it seems by what i have found over internet, i'll need to find this firmware too. please email it to me too ed_hunter_bg@yahoo.com
and any instructions on how to write it to hdd will be usefull
