hi specialists,

I have a WD IDE 200GB here and it has fallen down off a table. it has been inside a USB external case and it did not spin when falling down...
now, if you power it on (connected to an IDE bus), it just buzzing and humming. so I opened the drive in a koettermann flow box to investigate the physical damage:
it looks great. no scratches, no broken parts visible. but spindle does not spin up. ok, let´s promote the discs a little. but: no success. no movement at all.
so I tried to move it very hardly (with the thumb, radial, as good as you can do it within a flow box...) - no movement at all, no millimeter...
it seem. that the spindle bearings are totally stuck...

do I have any chance to approach data recue?

thanks and regards
Tom

dear nice guy,
thanks for your very friendly reply.
I suppose you might have got something wrong here though...
as I know that some people here earn their money by doing recovery jobs I liked to ask here at first if someone would be interested. I would like to support these instead of going to the big ones. their market power is huge enough... but, if no one is interested to do so, I have to call some commercial companies. there was no ultimatum. not as I would know...

and:
please take your gun away.
thanks and regards
tom

Hi,
any one else who feels able to do this job...?
the one recommended by jose asked me to wait for 2 weeks because of his holidays...
now he wrote me that he is not able to do the job (because it´s three platters...)
