We have got two identical drives one which does not come ready.

We have performed a head stack change with parts from the donor drive. Nothing happened, the drive still did not come ready.

Why could this be ?

the drives are identical apart from a manufacture date of AUG-03 (dead drive) and MAY-04 (donor parts)

I am very confused.
