 Post subject: Hitachi laptop HTS bad sectors blocking

Hitachi HTS548040m9atoo 40gb laptop hard drive. has bad sectors. before lowlevel format it showed 6mg in bad sectors. after - 8 kb. can i block them somehow, so they will not be used?

well, looks like multiple low level formating helped... all bad sectors disapeared. i will test it more...

Yes ,
Use HDAT2 ,Then USe Erase "WIPE" Then Use Scan And Repair Bad Sectors In Loop

scan the whole hdd using victoria remap bad sectors
