Toshiba MK6022GAX:

Hdd starts up and calibrating but not successful, head park in parking zone for 1 minute and starts recalibrating again but unsuccessful. (sounds like bad sector head moving back and forth but not clicking).

Using MHDD the drive does not come "Ready".

Do you think it is the R/W head problem?

or one possible problem is the firmware is actually corrupted.

Thank's guys.

Yes, most likely.

No... unfortunately its not the R/W head or preamp.

Head Exchange successfully done but the problem persists.

f/w chip removed and placed to a new board won't work neither.

I suspect the service area is faulty.

Any suggestions guys?

I've got same problem.
Overall drive test reported - it's ok, but that's false.

Additionally, i'vefound, that my drive requires some 'heat' actions.. such as scandisk running after startup... after 5-10 minutes of 'overclocking' usage, it starts normal work, not 100%, but 70%...
I'd like to get new one HDD.... but wanna to know what's wrong with this one.
I suppose, that some heads are dead.
OR
Cache chips became corrupted
OR
i've installed wrong drivers (i used only ones supplied with my notebook)

Any other suggestions?

Got it working finally, reprogrammed ROM, and replaced the bad RAM.
