Hello almoga123,
If you can't find anything on Seagate’s website I would recommend to keep things the way they are.
Reasons for this:
1. Only in specific cases a Hard Drive manufacturer releases a firmware tool to update a Hard Drive model.
2. U can't just flash the Firmware like on your Motherboard BIOS.
3. Most Firmware Flashes are performed, because of corrupted Firmware, not because of Performance.
4. You will need specific tools to perform updates and they are expensive.
5. You will most likely not find firmware downloads on the manufacture’s web site, therefore you will have problems finding the proper version and making sure it's authentic.
As long as your RAID is working, I would consider leaving things the way they are. And even if you could update the Firmware I don't believe that you would have any real noticeable performance increase.
If you want a faster RAID set go with SATA or even better with SCSI drives.
this certainty! I agree fully
