Just think about it - you got a good program.
Most of "firmware" you can download is not going to
be useful because of uniqueness to drive - so it will more
likely be harmful.
You know which sectors are important for drive to function and
these ones cannot be replaced to make a working drive
Before you can write anything to the drive you should be able
to read most of "firmware" - then you going to find out some
typical errors for these drives.
Analyse the errors and check same sectors in good working drives
(more than 2 say 3) then you going to figure out how to use what
you got and what you can READ from the drive.
And also be careful of the "fix all" WD button - because this button
can turn silent drive into good knocker, if you not careful.
