Hi all,

I read from MHDD documentation:

Q26: It seems that on my HDD every block is bad.
A: You have some kind of System Area problem. This is not fixable with standard MHDD commands.

I am wondering if SA problems are not fixable with standard MHDD commands so does it mean I can resolve it through different way (non-standard commands)?

So is there any way to fix SA problems using MHDD?

Regards,
Rafal

Hello raf-pl,

In general MHDD can't be used to work on service area.
As to my knowledge there is no freely available too which can do this for you.

MHDD has a batch scripting function in MHDD 4.5 and bellow.
This could in theory be used to pass commands to the ATA Controller to access the Service Area. But for this you must know what you are doing in service area and you must know script function in MHDD.
The other alternative are writing your own tool if you have lots of free time to develop and research and are proficient in programming or purchase PC 3000 or HRT.

I hope this helps.
