Hi, need little help with mine Seagate Momentus 4200.2 2.5HDD model ST960821A FW: 3.05 - its OEM from Fujitsu NB and i have no warranty for it (cant send it to Seagate - they give no warranty for Oems). Ive been using it in USB Rack as mobile disk.
2days ago i realized that i cant copy anything on that disk. I tried it with data cable too, no results. Tried to format it with partition magic and windows, pc will freeze and after restart its in same state as before. So i tried MHDD - read test is ok - no bad sectors, can copy data from disk (so i did), i tried Seatools - quick test will crash, but long test is ok. When i tried erase disk with MHDD eraser it freeze at 1st sector and thats all. If i do soft reset (ctrl+alt+del), disk cant be found, same is when i try copy anything on it in Windows - i have to do hard reset or shut down PC to get it working again.
So conclusion at end
Can read - no bad sectors
Cant write or erase/format - pc will freeze
Should i start looking for new drive (this time not used and at last with 2 years warranty), or anyone know any trick to make it work....?

Can send any log (smart...) if needed, just tell me.

i think your hdd is damaged is physically i suggest u buy a new one .
