(Minor OT) CD-R Recovery/Repair

December 19th, 2006, 13:25

Hi folks! Awesome site and awesome people in here!

I've got a couple of CD-R plates, which are damaged. The "silver folio" on the backside are damaged, and the damage is close to the center. OFFCOURSE!

Does anyone have any trix how to "re-coat" or repair these holes.

Have a nice day, and a "Melly X-mas!"

Toothpaste ran across the surface has worked in the past. Also they make some commercial CD buffers that have also worked in the past.

Unfortunately toothpaste won't fix foil :D :(

As the data is recorded nearby the foil on the dye, there will be no way to get the data back. Perhaps a data recovery firm, but I even doubt that.
