maxtor diamondmax 6E030L0 detected as 6E040L1

Hi,
I have a maxtor 6E030L0 (30GB). At boot time the bios recognizes it as
6E040L1 (40GB). I've read that this might be a problem with the firmware on
the drive. How do I burn in a new firmware ? What else can be done to fix it ?
Thanks
