Basically, ive got this drive.. it has some data on it:

Format disk shows succesfull, reboot (data is still there)

FDISK + DOS format, reboot (data still there)

Write-Zeroes, reboot (again, all the data is still stuck there)

Hex Editor, replaced sectors 0-64, reboot (the old sectors are back)

Basically it seems this disk got some type of protection, just wondering what type

Any help would be appreciated, oh! ive tried to partition it with linux aswell and no luck... any ideas??

This is a firmware problem u wont be able to repair it until u have pc3000.

so i have to flash the firmware? and in order to do that i need a pc3000, right? there is no other way to flash this hdd fw? thanks for your reply

there is just partial problem in firmware u need to correct that and for that u need expensive tools like pc3000 . if u need to repair the drive i suggest u buy a new one because u will not be able to afford pc3000 for just one drive .
