I have a problem with the comatibility with my onboard SiL 3112 sata controller card and the maxtor firmware. I have the HA431C00 firmware on my working drive, and one with a different firmware (HA431DN0), that is not working. The write speed to the HA431DN0 is verry slow. And both are Maxtor DiamondMax 11 6H500F0 HDD:s. Do someone have it or is it true the thing that I wrote in the other thread (the thing that user "maysoft" related to and sad that I was wrong)........ :)

And the comment in the other thread was directed against the people that have the power to help other and choose to dont help and charge money for a simple solution!

Sorry, but you really don't understand what you are talking about.
Maxtor didn't release firmware updates for DM11 and tool that is able to "flash" firmware on these drives doesn't exist at the moment. Or if it exists - it won't help you and it is not for sale :)

you probably like that character or? and he (character) dosent know that the wisdom lies in the programmer of the programs he uses. he thinks he is so smart because hi know how to use those programs. a few week of computer course could get you that knowledge about the what programs to use, so why not share the information?

No all of you should hold on to the information and not share anything with anybody! Then you are all fine!

Is this it a support forum or what?

and then the quote by maysoft is just so funny so just keep your knowledge for your self

No, it's not.
Maxtor support forum should be on Maxtor website.
That's actually the only place where they can help you. Here people talk about fixing drive firmware, not updating it. These are totally different things.
Firmware update utilities can be only released by the manufacturer and that's what people try to explain you here for a month now.

studen,

With repect, you are just not listening, you cannot fix firmware problem with freeware.

Manufacturers software release may be able to UPDATE firmware but cannot REPAIR firmware, end of story.

Starling is correct, and a very knowledgeable person. He is not being disrespectful to you, simply advising you (correctly) that you are wasting your time looking for a free software solution to your problem. If he/we could help you, then he/we would, but it is impossible without the correct tools.
