Quantam Selfscan

Does someone know the procedure for starting selfscan on Maxtor quantam drives ?

I need to start selfscan on Maxtor D540X-4K 40gb drive .

Do u have to load the .sso file or just start selfscan or is there any way .

if selfscan requires loading a file please provide for this drive .

To run selfscan of 740X-6L, you must have PC3K-ISA.

yes i do have pc3k isa this is what i do to start self scan on these drives :

1) load the .sso file .
2) then start selfscan .
3) then disconnect the hdd and connect to a external power supply .
4) After 2 minutes the led is blinking and keeps on blinking.

nothing happens after that i have left the hdd on power supply for 2days still the light is blinking .

Whats did i do wrong here ?
