can i read and write wd800bb fja0 rom using programmer
May 2nd, 2007, 15:15
hi,
Of course. Now I am using EETools Topmax, but I built a simple programmer through the paralel port and wrote some code in assembly for reading/writing M25Pxx before I bought that programmer. It is not that difficult...

pepe

Hi,
Pin 1 is marked on the case either with a dot, or by cutting one edge in ~45 degrees (turn this cutting to face towards U, pin1 is the bottom-left pin).
U may also download the datasheet of the IC and see the parameters of the casing.

pepe

please ms pepe i want data sheet of the rom ic and your simple circuit as iam afriad of making mistake with my programmer burn it so i want to try with your circuit first

Hi,
I am afraid it is more likely u make a mistake with my circuit than with the programmer. ... and to be honest I don't have a drawing of it...
And of course U would need the prog also to make it work.
It is much easier to use an existing programmer than to build one, I didn't have one and it was a weekend, so I had to build it soon
U can find the datasheet on the web, use google!
M25P05, or M25P10, they are the same except M25P05 is 64KB, while M25P10 is 128 KB.
regards,
pepe

Maxword take a look at
http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3081. It's a turnkey unit affordable and supports lots of chips so you can re-program motherboard bios as well.
