Just received this for urgent recovery.
Fairly noisy motor, and non-stop clicking.
I don't have utils to check firmware; does anyone have sufficient experience of these drives to determine whether fault is likely to be heads (I have donor drive) or firmware (in which case I can't do much) ?

Never mind - just opened drive up.
Heads detached, deep gouges all over platters.
Non-recoverable.
