What is, in your opinion, the best forensics software?

Encase?

Winhex :D

FTK.

Forensic Tool Kit.

Easier to use than Encase, in my opinion.

I have been impressed with Paraben's set of tools. Similar functionality to FTK, but a bit cheaper. Watch for bugs though...

In terms of admissibility in court and recognition in the industry, EnCase is considered the standard. FTK is catching up and both are in use by most forensic practitioners and law enforcement agencies.

No matter what software is used, the methodology, skill and experience of the investigator is what counts.
