I have a maxtor drive with corrupt ulist, both copy 1 and 2. My question is can a suitable replacement be copied from another drive or is it specific to the drive in question? I know it is specific to the configuration of the particular drive, ie. platters, heads, etc. The data is needed from this drive. Thanks.

There are actually 4 copies of UList...
But anyway, even if 2 of them are corrupted it's something more than a firmware corruption... And I'm not sure it's a good idea trying to rewrite them...
I would try smart hot swap first.

Hi Rameez. Yes, both copies were damaged in the same place so neither could be restored to the other.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ended up returning the drive back to the customer before resolving the issue. He was a bit impatient! Good to know for the next time. Thanks again.

Hi,
Sorry. this answer wasn't pointed to U only. U know there are many guys using pirated stuff and this is an open forum.
I would be glad to meet U on ACElab's forum and talk about things related to using PC3k.
Sorry again if I was offensive.
