Seem's your drive has a "read only" trouble. The head is just fine.

Hmm, I'm not an expert on Seagate at all.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Do we think this is just f/w corruption? Or something a little more serious?

Cheers in advance!!

Sean

I'm not Sure it is a Firmware problem
You can test by reading out of its Overlay via terminal
If You can read it as well than there is nothing problem with OVERLAYT module.

I think it is a head problem. I got one with this problem too. after change its head I can access to data upto 100%.
this is Seagate 72.10 GALAXY series 320 GB with 4 head adn 2 platter.
Not so difficult to change its head.

please tell me the progress friend

Thanks
Aping
