Hi all,

Have a Fujitsu MHT2040AT in with blown PCB.

Is it possible to re-write the ROM 'in situ' onto another PCB on these?

Or are they like other Marvel based PCB's (like WDC 'Mammoth' drives)?

Usually I would just swap PCB with a donor, but can't find one. (It's an Apple oem model, FW: 0B8E-8162)

Any help appreciated?

I know I could unsolder the ROM, but it's a big beast with loadsa legs!

Cheers

Sean

pcimage,

pc3kwin has "kernel mode" capability for MHT and it
is easy to read / write ROM with loose pcb only connected.

Just search for old MPG procedure for some tip to do this job.

You had success with "donor pcb" for MHT ? - maybe not :)

coffeebean,

thanks for reply, but my PC3000 is 2.20 only, no MHT ROM support :-(

I've done MHS PCB's, so I know how to do it.

Better save up for UDMA upgrade ;-)

Also actually, maybe you're right. I don't remember PCB swapping an MHT, only MHV's

I have a better idea match only the processor chip of the orignal with the donor . if u have a matching donor with same processor chip just solder the orignal ROM to the donor pcb it will work fine .
