Hello, i`m new on this forum so thank you for those who try to help me. My problem is like this...my switching power supply got mad and burned my mainboard, hdd and cd-rw..cpu and ram got away..anyway i fixed the supply, buyed a new mainboard and cd-rw but i want my information back from hard drive! The problem with the hdd was that the motor drive got burned, like smoke&stuff, rest seems ok, there is no low impedance on 5 or 12V on the hdd`s pcb(if i power it up, nothing happens). I opened the hdd carefully, the head looks ok, the amplifier is soldered on the head`s circuit but is sticked with adhesive so no way of changeing it if it needs to. I took from someone a pcb of an 80GB WD hdd, don`t remember if it was same model/serial, but the motor started, and almost when it reached full speed the heads went "clank", engine stopped, after that started again and again clank, and so on...., of course no bios detection. -please tell me if the "alternative_pcb" would fit, after my oppinion it does, above 90% for sure, am i right?
-and if i mount the alternative pcb and the hdd makes the "clank" noise, what choices do i have?
Thank you!
