salam alekm hello i have hdd wd600ab 00cba1 with head map 0,2,3 and head 2 is bad i wanted to disable it and friends on hddguru told me to clear defects from defect table of this head do i delete it from plist and save only or delete it then rewrite the plist from the file after delete them
another thing friends told me to set the maxlba of hdd to maxlba of 40 gb but the hdd dosent support setmaxlba so i tried to use edit hdd id when i set the values near of 40 gb as i will disable only one head from 3 heads so the hdd logicaly will be 40 gb the hdd start click when i set the values to 14 gb only it works good so please help

i have replied in ur other post one more thing u need to set cyllinders not lba .
