In seagate drives i have heard that there is a write protection feature like in the old days floppy disks had write protect tab . I want to know how do i turn on/off the write protection in these drives .
Also tell me if some other brand has this feature except seagate .
Thanks in advance .

I believe I've seen full description of this feature in their product manuals... You can set this protection for specific sectors, etc. I am not sure if you can turn it on/off for the entire drive though (for that you probably need to use terminal commands...)
