Hello all,

as you all know that there are some reasons related to PCB which cause clicking noise , i face this problems with WD PCB (L Shaped) with (smooth Ic 1.3) so i'll report these reasons here in the order of their Importance:

1- Resistor (R 120) is damaged (the most important reason) - the right value of this resitor is (1.2 ohm) - you can replace the damaged one by another good one from a donor PCB - you may notice that this resistor is present in many WD PCBs.
before you replace the resistor (R120) you should first check The Transistor (Q8) cause if it's damaged it will burn the new resistor directly after you power on the PCB.

2- one of the small capacitors are removed (good inspection of the PCB with magnifying glass or even with naked eye will do the job) - you can also replace the removed capacitor from a donor PCB.

3-firmware microchip is damaged ( it's rarely occured)

i will support this topic by image as soon as possible :)

any question ..any suggestion ... any criticism .... u all r welcome :)

A photo of "Resistor (R 120)" and "The Transistor (Q8)" would be most helpful.

Thanks for the info, i'll try it out - I always assumed it was a head problem if it clicked.

sorry for all there some mistakes in my post above:

1- the right value of Resistor R120 is 0.12 ohms (not 1.2 ohms)
