Hi Gurus,

I have two WD drives, WD1600JB-00EVA0 and WD200EB-11CSF0, exhibiting similar strange symptoms. I have scanned both with Salvation Data and both read fine - no defects. When I connect them to a PC for imaging, they recognize fine, then after a few seconds, they freeze up, and are not accessible. Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for any and all replies.

A

Location: In your hard drive.
Regenerate the translator using the P-list?

Hi acforensics,

Try MHDD ...... "identify" if this works
then

try "scan"

WD can do this quite easily, sometimes,
when SA heads are good and another head is bad.

Then MHDD (scan) can show this up very quickly.

Thanks for the replies. Not sure how to regenerate using P-List with Salvation Data tools. I'll try MHDD...
