Hi,

My WD SATA drive seems to have died, I tried to use the freezing method and took it out and try however nothing happen. There were no clicking sound whatsoever, the drive remains quiet throughout. However, it seems to get hot at some part of the bottom of the drive. How can I at least get some of my important information out.

Any suggestion is welcomed.

I think when you say "died", you mean it doesn't spin anymore.

That is usually caused by a failure of the electronic board underneath; this "PCB" board can be replaced by an identical one and your drive will spin again.

The problem is you have frozen your drive, and thus created condensation on the platters, which might have destroyed the data in the long run.
