Data recovery and disk repair questions and discussions related to old-fashioned SATA, SAS, SCSI, IDE, MFM hard drives - any type of storage device that has moving parts

Hi,
my circuit board on my hard disk is dead. It is using the agere chip OSCAR C3-D4 040116700.
I was told to try to replace the motor controlling chip which is a SMOOTH L7250E 1.2, and the power chip 2P102. Any ideas of a web site which has these chips for purchase. Finding the complete circuit board is very hard, I found one in China that will take time to get, and I need my data off the hard drive. (it is a 300gig SATA Maxtor). Thanks for your help. I
can't find a compatable circuit board as well, I was told the controller chip has to match exactly.
