hi everyone,
i have WD Cavier 20gb. i run reading service tracks, found error at track -20/1 (appeared WD Techno Read Error C/H/S:-20/1 - Device error detected 59/01 (AMN)).. try to write but still error. all other modules are ok. i've checked in MHDD but found no bad sector. so i try my luck - format & install windows xp (completed with driver)..and all ok...
my question are : 1) does the error (-20/1) will effect the hdd in the future?
2) is there anything i can do more to repair the error?
any advice or tips is much appreciated
rgds

Hi Ariann,

All WD's give this error on track -20 and it is absolutely normal and harmless.
Dont worry about it.
I just wonder you are talking about a WD400 which should be a 40 G drive and not 20 G.

Best regards,

Dobre
