Differences between sector repair feature (Salvation/MHD..et

January 11th, 2008, 10:05

Hi,

Is there a difference between "repair feature" salvation hdd scan, Vivard , MHDD, hdat2, hdd regenerator ?

Is it always "remap" or can it be a physic repair like write many times on the same sector to reactivate it ?

Another question about it: I did a scan+remap with vivard (2 bas sectors) .... when i run a new scan with all these software, my drive is ok but when i read "smart" , i have "reallocated sectors raw:0", why i don't have "2" ?

Thanks

Bye

There are no physical surface repairs, only software that claims it can (like Spinrite).

Try spinrite with older IDE drives and check G-list it does write corrections to G list
