I have a Maxtor 160GB HDD that has overheated and the board shows where the component got hot. My question is, can I put another pcb or is the motor also fried? Any response would be very helpful.

Thanks, Sal

In my experience it is most common that you've lost the PCB and nothing else.

The PCB can be replaced or perhaps even repaired.

Post a clear photograph of the PCB and we'll be able to tell you if it's just the PCB or if you're going to need a head transplant. (Or, rather, your drive will need a head transplant - I'm sure your own head is just fine.)
