Hi Gurus,

I have this Seagate Mercury(Momentus) that I am trying to recover data from. Here is the log. Any ideas on how to fix this with PC3000? Can I replace the fw giving the errors or is this unique data?

Thanks!

Hello acforensics

If i did my diagnostic right this case reach´s DRDY DSC, maybe u can tried to controll the extraction changing some settings while did the image t?, this error its the most common on seagate Err 47 .

Even in the most cases, like this, if u did a head exchange maybe u dont get nothing so i will tried to controll that, and tried to get some sectors

Best Regards

My guess is that you've got a head crash, corrupted data, or both, which is not uncommon with this model, especially those with firmware 7.01 and WU site code.

These drives sometimes have multiple concurrent failures (e.g. mechanical, corruption, etc.) and they can be tough to recover from. Often the yield is low, even after a head swap.

Good luck!

Jon
