 Post subject: hhd probs please help

when i boot my comp i get this message come up

secondary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed

what does this mean ??

i guess it affects my second hard drive cos my comp cant access it not even showing in the my computer file

please help me all i have done is re-installed windows

First question... Why did you reinstall Windows? Did you have any problems?

Second, what drives are in your system? Are you sure the jumpers are set properly?

Hi, I usaly mean that you use the old IDE cable (40pin) instead of the dubbleshielded 80pin cable.
Or the IDE connector is not seated properly.
