Hello to all,

I have problem with toshiba mk6032gax drive.Seems problem with FDB .it spins and generates a grinding noise and some time stops spinning too.I want to recover data from it.

Does anyone repairs these FDB?

Can anybody like help me in this.?

We fix these by swapping the platters and heads into a comparable drive enclosure with a good motor.

Don't attempt it yourself without the proper tools and experience.

Replacement of the motor is also possible, unless it destroyed a motor cylinder.

Easier to swap the platters and heads.

Or there are tricks to get the motor running long enough to image the drive, they usually work for me 8/10 times

yes ,i would like know the tricks becuase i have not a donor with ok bearing right now..i would able to read some sector ..but it stop many time,so it is too hard to clone required sectors.Please help me my friend.

These drives are position sensitive. Try imaging the drive with it positioned vertically, with the cable coming out the bottom.
