 Post subject: WD5000AAKS PROBLEM

Hello I'm having a problem in a Hard Disk WD, which fell the same was in a Case and running, the league WD click click click after some 30 seconds from now disconnected thank any assistance required

It's probably a heads problem. It could also be the PCB. Find a PCB with the same number and reprogram the ROM if you have a PC3000; physically swap it if you don't. If that doesn't work, it's a mechanical (heads) issue and you'll need pro service.

I'm surprised the spindle isn't locked. Every dropped hard drive I've seen lately has a locked spindle.

I think there must be an international hard drive juggling club or something. Lots of dropped hard drives.

He was within a Case for Hard Disk fell when the Hard Disk was connected when I fell I have PC3000, I believe in changing the PCB would most like to hear views thanks to all

@cgallery: Now that more and more people can afford external USB drives, there are much more people that let them fall down. Looks not that surprising to me :)

I need reviews of what could be happening, not of opinion whether or not people stop dropping their hard disk as this forum is an open environment to exchange ideas and knowledge, I am not owner of the truth and do not want to be, all Reviews Useful will be welcome

Sorry -- I overlooked the fact that it fell.

Disregard my advice about the PCB. It's most likely a mechanical issue - heads or spindle.
