Hi i got wd800 client disk It identify in bios as Saber

Is this any chance pcb swap wound work on this firmware reflash or shound just tell them they data is gone?

90% is not the pcb. If you have PC3000 or SALVATIONDATA HD DOCTOR check the relevant modules. Does the drive click at startup? There is always the 3rd option- send drive to a pro with proper gear that will do the job for you. P.s. Before you ask, the tools I mentioned above are hw/sw complexes and their cost is...

The Drive click one or twice stop then go back to normal sound of runing hard disk

also bios identify is wrong I don,nt have thought I was look aff repairstations? software

Hi Andyasselin,

Your
a. PCB is fine (its able to detect in BIOS)
b. Servo is fine (Its able to click or atleast able to spin the drive)
c. Head Stack is fine (its not clicking continuously and the drive is detected in BIOS)
d. Preamp is fine (PCB is not fired)

This is definitely a FW problem.

1. Give it to a Pro DR company, to fix the corrupted firmware module & get the data out.
2. If you own a PC3000 or SalvationData's HD Doctor for WD, do a FW check & fix the error modules.
or post the terminal report to take the advice from the experts here.

do think wound work as to me seem like bad firmware I know they don,nt want spend ton of it but I think they problay invest little money try get stuf Back

Ya I don,nt have hardware like pc-3000 or salvation data hardware doctor
