64 GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 Problems

January 11th, 2010, 13:58

Hey guys,

I'm working with a 64 GB Kingston DataTraveler 200. When it's plugged into a USB port, the light on the flash drive comes on and it is recognized by the computer (both Windows and linux), but you cannot access it. For example, it shows up in Device Manager as a removable drive, but it doesn't show the size. You also can't access it in Hex Editor programs like WinHex either. Any ideas on what the problem may be? I just wanted to make sure that this isn't a known problem with this type of flash drive.

Thanks in advance!

It is almost surely related to some damaged areas of the flash memory, the controller disabled access.
This is a 'take it to a pro' case.
