Hi everyone, i'm dealing with a recovery case but the nand chips on the flash are not supported or gives alot of bits errors by F.E or PC-3000 SSD version, the NANDS are:
SAMSUNG K9BCG08U1A x2 and the microcontroller is a Silicon Motion SM3255Q-AB the NANDS are TLGA-52 if someone has this board working please PM ME.
i bought a couple of new ones but they have different nands and microcontrollers.
Regards.
Rafael.

NAND chip K9BCG08U1A operates not at 3.3V, which NAND reader will read it at. I believe it reads at 1.8/1.9V which is why you get many errors.
What is wrong with original PCB, do you have opportunity to repair it? Post a photo of it here

Impossible to repair, i have the proper equipment but no use, the board is broken in two pieces and there's more than 2 layers, could take me entire weeks to analyze the board and fix it.

agree. and have other way for improve reading result. but still no prefect.
@Izualim
i offten meet such case. my cases are PCB is good. had to read chip for data recovery. let me check it have in lab or no.

I don't have a datasheet, but Samsung's catalogue identifies the K9BCG08U1A as a 64Gbit 3.3V MLC Flash.
The "U" in the part number denotes a Vcc range of 2.7V~3.6V.

indeed you are right, voltage are between the range of the readers.

hi,
sorry. don't have LGA52 PCB. but i have special TSOP48 PCB with this controller.
May 10th, 2012, 10:08
Thanks sunny but must be have the same pin connections, Thanks For Checking your stock!
May 10th, 2012, 23:44
welcome.you can use it for your LGA chip if you know well with it. as know Transcend 8G or 4G pen drive will have same thing as your.

the pcb must be for 2 nands so the mixing between them match, also with the same capacity, the controller might work differently depending on the capacities of the flashes.

two case with this controller come. one is TSOP48,one is two LGA52. PCB is good. let me finish it first and i will talk to customer.
May 14th, 2012, 3:02
Nice, let me know if the client agreed and if you could upload some photos of the board
May 14th, 2012, 19:55
hi,
LGA52 case success 98% recovery. but i still no talk with customer that i want keep this board. you need photo only? please contact me by IM. i can send photo to you immediately if need photo only.

added to skype.

I'd take a photo of the damaged pcb and if you see one of the nands is also damaged, but i was able to read it, and gave me around the same bit errors that the another, i might still be lucky if i found the correct pcb.

second chip is broken. please show me high quality images of broken one both side. please double check it to see it possible to recovery or not. had to think about it. BTW. i every week have some SM3255Q come here. you can try with TSOP48. sorry about last BGA one. customer had to take it back.

I was able to read all the banks from the broken nand, none of the pins has been broken and as i said before i got around the same bit errors like the other, i need a board to test, let me know if you find the proper board.

will keep looking for you
