I have an iPhone that says
iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes
I believe the phone was locked with passcode, and it was tried too many times with wrong passcode
Below link for more information
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212The owner of the phone is no more and no one knows the passcode now. There is no backup to computer also.
Anyone came accross and recovered data in this kind of scenario ?

apple security software will delete all the data and everything of the iphone
if the person tries to put the wrong password in to many times
which you phone now says iPhone is disabled
so more likely data has been ERASURE
only other option which you dont have is connect the iphone to itunes to restore
which you dont have
only way is to restore back to factory mode everything is gone
once the iphone is connected to itunes it has a special id key this tells apple everything about the ownership of the phone
and it does communicate direct with apple

I think this one will not work sorry to say. I have seen this when they try to jail break the phone. Before some phones were able to jail break then the newer ones when tried would give this error. When you tried to connect it to itunes you could not do anything with it at all. The phone is bricked.

As far as I know the wipe/erasure isnt done until it is accessed remotely via the "Find My iPhone" utility, or until being restored with iTunes.

if they set it up on the phone there a self destruct after to many failed passcode attempts
which will wipe the phone and data clean
as they tried to enter the passcode to many times and its disabled now
nothing else they can do.
